JOB DESCRIPTION

Central Game Technologies, a department part of Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment (WBIE), seeks an Advanced Programmer, CGT.

This technical role in the Warner Bros. Central Game Technologies team offers a recognized expert the opportunity to participate in the envisioning, designing and building of a variety of enterprise-level game development application services and solutions in support of our video games and central services teams. This role includes the creation of solution architectures that will incorporate custom and COTS applications together with integrations with our proprietary game systems and pipelines. Coupled with the power of the cloud, the ideal candidate will collaborate with small agile teams to architect, design and engineer applications and processes that will support hundreds of our game developers.


You will have the chance to work with game teams across the entire organization, as well as WB central teams. You should have a strong focus on innovation and leverage a deep technical background and experience. You will contribute to the roadmap, architecture and technical and business delivery of various software applications. Strong soft skills are required to collaborate with individual game teams, in order to gain adoption and enhance these solutions.


The successful candidate will be based in Montreal.

Job Responsibilities
  • Contributing across an entire project lifecycle, which includes gathering requirements from key technical leaders, creating a vision and strategy, presenting to leadership, developing the product roadmap, ensuring projects are on track and completed on time, managing communication with all stakeholders, and collaborating with the development team
  • Participating in all aspects of the proposed service end-to-end, including design, implementation, support and developer interaction
  • Developing solutions as part of the game development application services portfolio that are modular, portable, testable and reliable
  • Driving usage of coding best practices and standards; Participating in code reviews and provides constructive feedback on design and implementation to help others improve coding skills
  • Overseeing support and administrative actions related to the installation and maintenance of production systems, while also engineering solutions that require minimal support
  • Leveraging the cloud where appropriate, utilizing automation, cloud computing and configuration as code
JOB QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:
Work Experience Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role.
  • 8+ years of experience in AAA game development using C++ as the primary programming language.
  • 5+ years of experience developing enterprise level solutions
  • 5+ years of source control management experience including advanced concepts like branching strategies and developer workflows
  • 5+ years of experience with automated build pipelines, continuous integration, and continuous deployment
  • 3+ years of experience of working with Microsoft .NET Core (C#) building REST API, microservices and web applications using HTML 5+, CSS3+, JavaScript, jQuery, Angular/React.
  • 3+ years of experience with virtualization and cloud platforms (e.g. VMware, Azure, or AWS)
  • 2+ years of experience in database development, relational and NoSQL
  • Excellent knowledge of data structures and of algorithm complexity analysis
  • Excellent knowledge of design patterns and MVC
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, and customer service skills
  • Good understanding of various project management models (specifically Agile)
  • Experience with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes is an asset
  • Experience with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning is an asset
