WB Games Inc. seeks a Technical Director for the WBG San Francisco Platform department.

What part will you play?

As a Technical Director, you will be responsible for various technical initiatives important to the studio, including (but not limited to) evaluating new technologies, creating technical plans and architecture, conducting architecture reviews, and ultimately coding/developing and maintaining significant game features.

You will be responsible end-to-end for certain technical initiatives, working within frameworks established by the Studio Principal Engineer, and the Product Leaders. In addition, you will partner with other stakeholders and disciplines to understand project goals and requirements, and deliver high-quality player experiences.

You are expected to establish and uphold Engineering “best practices and standards”, and to mentor other Engineers, both directly and by example.
  • Build, enhance and maintain new and existing functionality for our games.
  • Architecture, technical planning and requirements gathering.
  • Code reviews, engineering mentorship, codifying best practices.
  • Research and assess emerging technologies.
  • Assess internal projects for risk or opportunity.
What do we require from you?
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent industry experience and success.
  • At least 8 years of game industry experience.
  • Shipped at least 1 mobile/social title, preferably on multiple platforms.
  • Expert C# programming skills.
  • Expert knowledge of Unity3d game engine.
  • Proficient with 3D math including linear algebra (vector math, matrices).
  • Experience in every aspect of full stack development.
  • Deep knowledge of common data structures and algorithmic solutions.
  • Deep knowledge of software design practices including modular architecture, event-driven architecture, and software design patterns.
  • Strong practical knowledge of mobile, platforms middleware technologies, strengths and weaknesses.
  • Extensive experience working with internal and externally developed code.
  • Experience with network game design and development.
  • Documentation / Presentation skills.
  • Strong performance optimization experience.
  • Strong problem solving / debugging skills.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Ability to assist others in their work.
  • Ability to assess the quality of other engineers work.
  • Passion for making games.
