WB Games Montréal is currently looking for a Lead Development QA

The Lead Development QA will be responsible for leading the quality assurance within the development team.

The Lead Development QA will work closely with their production team, development team, peers and testers to create a complete testing and reporting process, support the needs of the development team and be the bridge between the development team and the publishing QA. In addition, the LDQA is a QA leadership role, where the LDQA is responsible for mentoring, stewarding, and supervising their team of Development QA testers.


Focus of Work

· Tests and oversees the testing of the game and development tools for ease of use, stability, reliability, consistency, absence of product defects and compliance.

· Supports production by giving maximum visibility on the current status of the game through dashboards and clear reporting

· Owns JIRA. Suggests and implements improvements to JIRA workflows

· Proactively raises appropriate flags on areas of the game development which appear to be at risk

· Helps establish testing methodologies and procedures for their team. Possesses an in-depth understanding of the product development cycle (overall organization, processes and workflows).

· Leverages experience and judgement to solve issues and optimize workflow. Identifies the need for and oversees the development of new or enhanced technical tools, especially automation tools.

· In addition to requisite technical skills, the Lead must demonstrate leadership capabilities and have solid communication, organization, planning, problem solving, decision-making skills and the ability to influence others.

· Responsible for ensuring the timely sharing of pertinent information and helping facilitate process or product improvements.

· Mentors dev QA team members to build expertise and ownership of specific subject matters

· Advises production on ramp up needs for Dev QA & Publishing QA teams

· Acts as the link with the Publishing QA team, providing them with the proper documentation, onboarding information and necessary support

Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification

· No formal education requisite. High School diploma degree preferred


· Demonstrably strong familiarity with QA processes and procedures.
· Demonstrably strong familiarity with game development.
· At least one shipped title in a Development QA position is a must
· Previous experience in Development QA on a AAA project clearly a plus
· Minimum of 2 years of experience in leading small to large groups of testers
· Solid PC skills, including ability to use Microsoft Office products, extensive knowledge of JIRA, and SDK/Debug tools from platform manufacturers
· Knowledge of Teamcity a plus
· Knowledge of Unreal Engine 4 a plus
· Good verbal and written communication skills
· Detail oriented, autonomous and proactive
· Knowledge of video game development industry
