We are seeking a Senior Publishing Analyst to join our Mobile Publishing team in San Francisco.

What part will you play?

The Senior Publishing Analyst will work with business intelligence, analytics and publishing professionals to determine the best approaches and systems for supporting state-of-the-art analytics; they must have an affinity for data and analytics that support key business decisions. The Senior Publishing Analyst will work closely with the Mobile games team, User Acquisitions, Central Product Managers, and other groups to evaluate how our customers are coming to and playing our games and inform improvements we can make to drive sustained engagement and monetization. Specifically, they will be extremely detail oriented, with a strong product orientation and an affinity for data and analytics in support of driving both product-level and business decisions.

The successful candidate thrives at delivering solutions to complex data problems preferably in gaming, and has proven themselves effective at navigating and overcoming both internal and external challenges. Reporting to the Sr Manager, Publishing Analytics, this role is crucial to attaining Warner Bros. aggressive goals in mobile games. Responsibilities
  • Own instrumentation of analytics, tracking hooks, and taxonomy during development phase; establish best practices for repeated application.
  • Manage 3rd party tool integration, manage analytics/integration projects across multiple team.
  • Own collection and analysis of game data.
  • Generate actionable reports and recommendations on features that will improve retention, monetization and acquisition of gamers.
  • Identify pain points and work with product management, design and product development to implement strategies to address key problem areas.
  • Suggest and analyze the effectiveness of A/B tests.
  • Establish game data/data science foundation for our studios, work closely with platform team, game team, and third party vendors to establish best practices.
  • Share insights with executive leadership and game teams regularly.
  • Create cogent reports that are simultaneously data-rich and easily digested.
  • Documentation of analysis/code/scripts.
What do we require from you?
  • MA/MS Degree in Quantitative Analysis, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Economics, Mathematics or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 4-5 years experience in data and analytics-intensive role. Mobile, social or online games experience a plus.
  • Deep familiarity with iOS, Android, or Facebook games marketplaces, design trends and analytics best practices.
  • Experience writing queries and using software tools to put together reports and analysis to drive key business decision-making.
  • Experience with using R or Python for statistical analysis.
  • Ability to promote analytics across the organization and lead teams to using analytics insights to drive decisions.
  • >1 year of experience performing user acquisition analysis in the mobile/game space.
  • Proven ability to conceive and test hypotheses based on inconclusive or incomplete data from unstructured data and creating structures that lend themselves to analysis.
  • Strong analytical background with a focus on consumer behavior in digital entertainment/games.
  • Proven SQL skills – Must be experienced writing queries across complex database structures. Distributed querying experience (Hive/Pig/Presto) a huge plus!
  • Experience with using Tableau or Looker.
  • 2 years of experience with using R or Python for statistical analysis.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with colleagues across different disciplines and locations to achieve results.
  • Ability to work in a fast-pace environment and prioritize work to meet specific deadlines required.
  • Must be self-motivated and results oriented.
  • Familiarity with mobile game development process a plus.
  • Flexibility to travel to Warner Bros. studios as required.
  • Attendance at industry conferences as required.
