The Data challenges at WB Games are extensive and you can expect to level up in all data domains. This includes software engineering, distributed systems, data modelling and machine learning.

Like us, you love games, and love to have fun. We look for those whose curiosity drives them to try new things, aren’t afraid to fail, and continuously learn.

What part will you play?

  • Design schemas to optimize analysis for speed and accuracy.
  • Design and develop highly scalable and stable data pipelines to support near real-time analytics.
  • Maximize performance & reduce costs. Game of Thrones: Conquest™ generates a lot of data, and our appetite is insatiable, time to insight is critical.

What do we require from you?
  • 5+ years developing highly scalable data models and pipelines.
  • Demonstrate ability to work through, and appropriately scale “big data” problems.
  • Mastery of PostgreSQL; both in query development and optimization.
  • Strong Experience working with DAG management solutions for developing data ETLs.
  • Strong scripting skills (Python, Ruby, Scala).
  • Strong knowledge of distributed database systems (Redshift, Vertica, etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of cloud-based object storage/processing platforms (AWS or Google).
  • Strong knowledge of continuous integration (CI) best practices and tools.
  • Knowledge for optimizing for downstream analytic tools such as Looker or Tablea.
  • Someone who does not fear change and can demonstrate a passion to continuously learn and adapt to new practices and technologies as they emerge.
Bonus points:
  • Passion for gaming and familiarity with mobile games.
  • Interest in game economies.
  • Experience and understanding of Machine Learning/Deep Learning libraries and tools.
  • Well-versed in object-oriented programming (OOP).
  • You have side projects or viewable public code on Github, Bitbucket, etc.
