Turbine is looking for a talented individual to lead the QA effort for our studio. The QA Manager will ensure high-quality user experiences for all Turbine mobile titles. This person will manage the daily efforts of the QA team by allocating resources and maintaining a productive and efficient test team through test cycles. The QA Manager will also define and develop testing procedures and test plans.

The focus of the QA Manager will be to provide testing support for the Turbine development teams. This individual will be responsible for defining and executing solutions for both development and live QA needs, including reproducing live issues, releasing new features, and testing changes in a rapidly iterative environment. In addition, the QA Manager will deploy effective mentoring and management to promote positive, collaborative culture and individual growth opportunity for the team.

What part will you play?
  • Create and oversee the QA strategy and process for the studio.
  • Approve test cases for mobile ecosystem.
  • Oversee the staffing and performance of the QA department.
  • Implement key KPI indicators to measure team effectiveness and product quality to help drive process changes.
  • Continually improve the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the QA efforts.
  • Conduct usability, functionality and performance testing as needed.
  • Provide regular updates to the Executive Producer and Exec Staff regarding the state of the product.
  • Oversee defect tracking database configuration and administration on a per project level.
  • Determine milestone completeness criteria and assess each game throughout the development process.

What do we require from you?
  • 8+ years of experience in Video Games Quality Assurance, preferably in online/mobile.
  • 6+ years of managing or supervising direct reports.
  • Shipped at least 3 mobile/social titles, preferably on multiple platforms.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience hiring and managing a world class Quality Assurance team.
  • Experience managing bug defect databases and creating test plans.
  • Excellent documentation / presentation skills.
  • Strong planning skills.
  • Strong knowledge shipping live products with a frequent release cycle.
  • A passion for mobile games and experience with the free-to-play model.
